Star Trek teaser trailer for the new series promises “new crews”

The trailer promises “New Crews, New Villains, New Heroes, New Worlds” – with the original crew of Kirk, Spock and co. now appearing in the film franchise, expect a different set of space explorers in the TV series.

The highly anticipated series is set to debut next January; as the show is still in the works, no cast has been announced as of yet.

The first episode of Star Trek will premiere on network television with subsequent episodes being released on CBS All Access, its online streaming service.

Nicholas Meyer, writer of numerous older Star Trek movie adaptations, is acting as writer and consulting producer. Star Trek. If it does indeed turn out to be a season-by-season anthology perhaps we’ll also see a subtitle somewhere along the way, like with American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. With that comes a very cool logo, and a tagline which promises, “New Crews”.

CBS has released a teaser trailer for their new Star Trek series, and it looks fantastic.

With Star Trek Beyond set to hit United Kingdom cinemas on July 22, the TV series will follow in January 2017.

‘Star Trek, ‘ one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns to television 50 years after it first premiered.

Based on these two images, fans have concluded that the series will take place after the events of “Undiscovered Country”, but before “Generations”.

Not much is revealed in the teaser trailer, but it does a fantastic job of psyching Trek fans up for the series, which is being shot in Toronto starting in September. Now, my first exposure to Star Trek was watching The Original Series when I was in single-digits. Live content and contemporary shows include commercials, but the classic programming is presented without ads.
