” Walt Disney Co resurrected “Star Wars” with a new generation of characters in December’s box office hit “The Force Awakens”. While many of us in the collecting world had assumed the protagonist of this winter’s first Star Wars film to take place away from the Skywalkers, Hasbro had never confirmed it for certain.

Executive producer John Kroll, who originally pitched the idea to Kennedy, also revealed the first piece of conceptual art for the film, which featured a ragtag group of Rebellion fighters on a very important mission. “Rogue One: Scarif” is now scheduled for an early 2017 release, which should coincide nicely with the film’s release.

Finally, we have a brand new poster with the ominous Death Star looming in the sky.

“What’s lovely is, obviously, we’ve brought in characters from “Clone Wars” in the second season, and we keep sort of bringing characters from the original movies and sort of deepening the relationships between our core characters, the Ghost crew”, he said.

According to The Guardian, “Star Wars: Rogue One” would see iconic actor James Earl Jones reprise his role as Darth Vader.

While this new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story teaser trailer has yet to pop up anywhere online, it’s a safe bet someone will leak it. In addition, the footage ends with Jones’ character Jyn Erso delivering a classic Star Wars line. “He said the word ‘Power.’ I just had a nerdgasm”. The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Jiang Wen, Ben Mendelsohn and Mads Mikkelson. “He’s smarter than most of his predecessors”, he added.
