With only a handful of 2015 video game launches left, it seems that Battlefront will hold its place.

So it’s no surprise that the game has gone down really well in the charts, debuting at number one over other titles like Black Ops 3, Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Electronic Arts Inc has little to worry from retailer GameStop Corp’s warning about weak gross sales for EA’s simply-launched “Star Wars” title, with analysts agreeing it was too early to foretell its success or failure. The third-party website aptly named Star Wars Battlefront Statistics developed by Player Stats Network has been keeping track of the total player count for the game across the three platforms it is available in. When the Xbox One and PC figures are added up there’s still a difference of over 30,000 players who are playing the game on PS4 instead.
Snezana Stojanovska, Senior Communications Manager at EA told MCV Pacific, “The EB Games Midnight Launch Events were a fantastic way for us to welcome the much-awaited release of Star Wars Battlefront”.
In the post-earnings call (via GameSpot), Raines revealed that Halo 5: Guardians and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate underperformed during the quarter, while President Tony Bartel revealed that Star Wars Battlefront sales last week came in below expectations.
It was also mentioned the game became the fastest selling non-sequel on the PS4 to date according to Eurogamer.
