Star Wars Battlefront is Now Available on EA Access

With Star Wars Battlefront releasing less than two days from now, DICE and Electronic Arts are doing everything humanly possible to hype the release of the upcoming sci-fi shooter, which includes today’s announcement of the game’s Season Pass providing an additional 16 multiplayer maps next year.

Star Wars Battlefront gives you the opportunity to play as Darth Vader while your console installs the game on PS4 and Xbox One. Giving fans and subscribers to EA Access an early glimpse at the full game was a generous and clever way to both promote Battlefront and EA Access as a service.

“We watched Star Wars with our kids recently, and our toddler (2 and a half) really enjoyed the bits she saw before her bedtime”. That line was actually first delivered by Obi-Wan Kenobi during his fight with Darth Vader in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be released tomorrow midnight.

I get trashed in normal on-the-ground multiplayer games, so I took to the skies for an all-fighter battle. In an effort to help promote the game, Xbox gamers can download the full game now, a week ahead of launch and play ten hours worth of it. The new trailer could put off a few fans as it seems the players will be limited to preset faces when customising their characters in the game.

With The Force Awakens releasing shortly after the game hit the shelves, it is a wonderful time to be a Star Wars fan. In addition, we get info on the game’s single-player and co-op modes, including an intense-looking speeder bike race and a mode where you get to control an AT-ST and blow sh*t up. I’ve reached out to EA just to make sure that’s the case, but Xbox One users should take note. There was a lot of risk and reward gameplay in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 that’s completely removed with the lack of multi-crew vehicles.

As one of the modes available during the beta, many players may already be familiar with Walker Assault. Since there are a fairly small number of heroes and villains now confirmed for the game’s initial release, we started to consider who else we’d like to see in future expansions. One of the strong elements that grabbed during the beta was just how Battlefront captured the very essence and wonder that makes Star Wars so special.
