Star Wars: Battlefront won’t support splitscreen co-op on PC

Among the disappointments are the fact that players won’t actually be able to pilot the iconic Y-Wing, and that the PC version of the game will lack the split-screen functionality of the console versions.

A few short days ago, just so the game developers can clear the air on a few issues and reassure dubious fans, Star Wars Battlefront’s Community Manager Matthew Everett made a blog post on Electronic Arts’ website to answer some of the public’s pressing questions in a Q&A compilation.

Lastly, EA confirmed that Split-Screen feature will only be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, not on PC. Instead, players can call on them for support in certain game modes.

Additionally, it explained a little about how vehicles will spawn in the Walker Assault game mode. The Star Wars shooter was IGN’s top pick from the video game convention.

These vehicle power ups have to be used within a certain amount of time though. One thing that is interesting is the new vehicle power-up item that will allow players to hop into a vehicle after acquiring the power-up.

The section was concluded with Everret clarifying the distinction between cooperative Missions mode and Multiplayer. There’s a lot already that doesn’t appear to be in this initial release of the game – stuff that was in Pandemic’s first iteration of Star Wars: Battlefront, which included flyable Y-Wings – that makes me wonder if maybe a lot of this content is being worked on as DLC?
