He said: “I think we need at least 10 victories”. “We really need to start building on that as quickly as possible”. He added: “I totally understand our fans’ frustration because we are bottom of the league and we don’t win games.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens earned an estimated $238 million this weekend, making it the biggest domestic opening of all time. If they’re going to take home the title for the highest grossing opening weekend of all time, and they nearly certainly are, Jurassic World’s $208 million is the number to beat.

The film, which carries a production cost of at least $200 million, opened in 32 additional foreign markets Thursday will open in most other markets Friday.

“The potential for The Force Awakens to ultimately break into the $2bn club worldwide is certainly in the realm of possibility”, he said.

Disney said that the strong showing for the latest “Star Wars”, which is playing at 4,134 North American theaters, “keeps us forecasting an opening weekend near $220 million”. On Saturday alone, the film took £8.6m, the biggest business done on a Saturday for a movie ever in the UK.

And in a sign indicating the movie will have an especially long run at multiplexes, opening day audiences have given “The Force Awakens” an A CinemaScore – including an A+ grade among women and A+ scores with audiences under 18 and under 25. That honor went to a special screening of “The Force Awakens” for Gold Star families who have lost relatives to combat- or service-related injuries.

The new Star Wars film has broken the box office record for the biggest single day in Ireland.
