Star Wars: Rogue One Just Added A Sherlock Actor

“Rogue One” will be a heist movie about rebels trying to steal the plans to the Death Star, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.

Based on his role in Sherlock, of which I am an avid fan, I can see Aris playing a senator in Star Wars very well, whether that senator is sensible and moral or arrogant and annoying.

BBC reported that Aris’s Spotlight page, which contains an online CV, listed Star Wars: Rogue One as his most recent credit, complete with the character name.

Star Wars: Rogue One is about to go before cameras, so it’s kind of surprising we haven’t heard much in the way of casting. The movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards, who has worked on movies like “Godzilla” (2014) and “Monsters” (2010).

Confirmed casting so far includes The Theory Of Everything star Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn. Whether he’s a spy helping the rebels or a stone-cold antagonist is still unknown and likely will be for some time – Lucasfilm loves to guard its secrets. As soon as claimed its find, the Charlatan One information were removed from Aris’ page.

Unlike the previous live-action Star Wars films, Rogue One will not revolve around the Jedi or the Force.

Star Wars: Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16th, 2016.

For those who don’t know, Jonathan Aris plays forensic scientist Phil Anderson on Sherlock, often initially clashing with Benedict Cumberbatch’s highly intelligent sleuth before heading up The Empty Hearse society later on.
