Star Wars superfans watch 17-hour movie marathon

J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t begin rolling out in the USA until Thursday night, and already the movie boasts more ticket sales than any title in Fandango’s 15-year history.
We ran into those who saw the original Star Wars movie when it was in theaters in 1977, as well as seeing kids experiencing Star Wars in theaters for the very first time.

Newcomer Ridley, who plays the film’s heroine Rey, shouted out to her fans on the red carpet, saying: “May the force be with all of you”.
“We live in a trans media world, so for people to be this excited about going to the movies, we are liable to never see this again”, he said.
Before the film’s stars arrived at the event, a group of stormtroopers from the First Order opened the red carpet. He’s been really busy doing wonderful basketball things for the last two decades, so hopefully in retirement he can catch up on the Star Wars flicks and come back with a better answer next time.
Also on hand at the theater were members of the 501st Legion, a volunteer organization authorized by Disney and Lucasfilm to do public appearances as “Star Wars” characters for charity.
“I’m just hoping Luke turns to the dark side”, said fan Eric Ho.

If you’re going to AMC Theatres, feel free to bring your lightsaber but turn it off during the movie. “It’s a huge phenomenon and everyone loves it. I’m working too much to see it myself now, but hopefully I’ll get to watch it before Christmas”.
