Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The highly-anticipated full trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is unveiled two months before the film hits cinemas. IMAX Corp. (NYSE:IMAX) also had a super-record breaking day, with $6.5 million in ticket sales for 390 screens across the US. However, the company has not revealed how many tickets have sold.

Millions of viewers, Facebook users and tweeters took part in the screening of the newest trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, shown Monday night.

The first of a new trilogy, it features original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill – who is mysteriously missing from the new trailer. Already, the trailer has been viewed over 13 million times on YouTube, making it one of the most watched and most celebrated movie trailers of all time. As Master Yoda would slyly exclaim, “there is another”, and that other is none other than Ridley’s co-star, John Boyega.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens fever is very real, and growing, and there is not a known cure, which is just how Star Wars fans want it. Merchandise from the upcoming movie is already selling like hotcakes.

As you might have heard, Disney will release the seventh film in the Star Wars canon on December 18.

The official The Force Awakens trailer was released on Tuesday to great fanfare – not least from the excitable cast themselves.

IMAX is also doing all it can to ensure that Star Wars fans get the maximum IMAX experience possible. Nearly immediately, movie tickets for opening night began to sell out and crashed ticketing websites like Fandango and Movieticket.com.
