Manoora woman Rebecca Earl had been “counting down the days” until the latest Star Wars instalment hit the big screens, and yesterday celebrated by dressing up and watching the film with seven family members.

Experts predict that the long-awaited seventh film could rake in between $180 million and $223 million in the U.S. and Canada this weekend – overtaking Jurassic World’s $208.8 million record. The film could take in $50 million or more just from the pre-shows, which would be a record-breaking result, topping “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2”. “We began noticing a gradual increase in sales of the title at the beginning of November, but it wasn’t until the past two weeks that purchases of Star Wars XXX really skyrocketed”.

After seeing the film, Crosby said he was confident Disney was taking the property in the right direction, though he remains anxious about oversaturation.

That nostalgia worked for Tony Brennan, who said he “can’t get off of that high that I’m on” after seeing the film with the opening-night crowd.

“I just try and carry it on and give them the same experiences that I had as a kid”, Matthew said. “I have about every collectible you can ever have”.

Here are seven more things you should know about Star Wars: The Force Awakens gleaned from a top secret media day.

Movie theater chains in Grand Rapids have released their costume policies ahead of the highly anticipated movie release. While they don’t discourage dressing up, they will not permit people with masks into the theater. What’s more, according to a poll on the site, 63 percent of respondents had plans to see “The Force Awakens” a couple of times in theaters. “They’re just glad to see that Dad is still working”. Please. Don’t tell people what happens before they go into the theatre.
