Star Wars The Force Awakens VR Experience Announced!

The Force is apparently strong with Google. In fact, he knows an bad lot about Star Wars.

Abrams didn’t reveal much during the Kimmel interview, but he did divulge that the first spoken word in The Force Awakens is “this”. It is described by Disney as “the first-of-its-kind serialised Google Cardboard virtual reality experience”. Once the changes roll out to your devices, Google Maps, Gmail, Chromecast, and more will “transform to reflect your path”.

While the makeover of Google Apps is a tribute from folks at Mountain View, California; the team is not done just yet.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” finally has been given its rating–a PG-13 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Disney is to release a serialised VR experience designed for Google Cardboard on December 2nd.

ILMxLAB, a laboratory for immersive entertainment from Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound created the VR content.

If you want to get in on this set of stuffed-in-person creatures, you’re going to want to grab one this week. John Boyega, who plays Finn, has been caught up in the hype about it; he has even wondered how people will react once they have watched it.

The Star Wars Cardboards can be purchased exclusively through Verizon retail stores beginning December 2, with four different designs to choose from. Hence, it’s better not to lineup right away.

The brand new Star Wars movie is coming out soon and the excitement has been building up.

And though he’s about to star in the big-budget blockbuster that is Star Wars, Boyega will continue his work in independent film – he got his start in 2011’s Attack the Block. May the Force be with you!
