It was announced that Disney plans to build “Star Wars-” themed lands in selected Disney theme parks.

“Star Wars” lands at Anaheim, California s Disneyland and Orlando, Florida s Walt Disney World will introduce a new planet from the intergalactic film saga, the company said on Saturday, commenting on one of Disney s largest park expansions.
With star Harrison Ford on hand, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that after Disney’s $4 billion purchase of Lucasfilm three years ago, “we wanted to bring “Star Wars” to every corner of our company…”
At the center of it all, to appeal to both old and new fans, will be the largest single theme land expansion that Disneyland will ever undertake to date, giving visitors an authentic Star Wars experience.
“These new lands will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet”.
Elsewhere, the 11 acre Toy Story Land will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It isn’t known if any of these actors, or other stars of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be present during this panel presentation, but we’ll find out for sure tomorrow.
Now that Disney has the rights to all things Star Wars, it’s looking to get as much mileage out of the franchise as possible. Disney also announced interim “Star Wars” initiatives at the parks, including Star Wars Launch Bay, an area where guests can meet characters and view props from the films. They may have a new theme park attraction to visit as well.
There will be aliens stationed at restaurants and stores to assist customers. You can check out all the fun in the latest video direct from D23. Another attraction will drop guests into “a climactic battle between the First Order and the resistance”.
