Another attraction that has survived since the very early days of the park, the Davy Crockett Canoes also traverse the Rivers of America, but do not run on a track and are propelled by guests themselves.
It is uncertain when the new Star Wars Land will be open to the public, as the completion date has not been announced by Disney Parks.
“We are excited to begin the work that will lay the foundation for the future “Star Wars”-themed land at Disneyland”, Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown said”.
As if that wasn’t enough, the following rides will be closing temporarily on January 11th for reasons unrelated to the Star Wars expansion (either to undergo routine refurbishment or to remove their holiday overlays): Autopia, Jungle Cruise, and Haunted Mansion. The L.A Times also noted Universal Studios Hollywood is set to launch their new Harry Potter attractions next year too, setting the stage for another great battle between sci-fi and fantasy.
He noted that attendance increased during an expansion of Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom in Florida from 2011 to 2014.
