‘Star Wars’-themed ‘lands’ are coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World
“Star Wars” lands at Anaheim, California s Disneyland and Orlando, Florida s Walt Disney World will introduce a new planet from the intergalactic film saga, the company said on Saturday, commenting on one of Disney s largest park expansions. “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world”, Iger told a fleet of fans as Disney painted a vision of immersive experiences, from a character-packed cantina to Falcons for this millennium. Visitors will get to fly Han Solo’s rough-and-ready ship, the Millenium Falcon, on what Iger called a “customized secret mission”, or join “a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance”. Disney is now planning a “Star Wars” land in two locations.

A date for the opening of the brand new points of interest was not given, and Disney didn’t touch upon the price of the expansions.
Disney has used its D23 Expo to shed light on new Star Wars, Toy Story and Avatar areas heading to some of its biggest theme parks. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential “Star Wars’ feel that fans have come to know”. Star Wars Launch Bay will be located in the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park.
In case you’re not an avid Star Wars follower, who is Drew Struzan and why does this poster matter?
It looks like The Force Awakens will be promoted in the same spirit as the original Star Wars films!
Created by George Lucas, the popular “Star Wars” film franchise is an epic space opera.
While no new footage or trailer was shown at the D23 Expo this past weekend for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney and Lucasfilm did unveil a new poster painted by Drew Struzan for the movie, due out December. 18.
