Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced a line-up of new attractions and entertainment coming to its theme parks around the world during the D23 EXPO 2015 in Anaheim, Calif.

Disney made it official that Gareth Edwards’ ROGUE ONE is shooting now, the story of the courageous Rebels who set out to steal the plans to the infamous Death Star in the days prior to 1977’s A NEW HOPE.

Disney chairman Bob Iger announced the creation of the lands at the biennial Disney D23 Expo, reported USA Today.

Joining Iger to make the announcement, was JJ Abrams, the director of the latest Star Wars The Force Awakens and a handful of the next film’s cast members.

And finally, a new poster designed by famed artist Drew Struzan was revealed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (via Den of Geek).

Disney parks actually have Star Tours ride since 1987 which would get an upgrade to reflect new characters ad worlds from the forthcoming “Star Wars” movies.

Disney released a statement officially naming Trevorrow, saying that “the enormous success of Jurassic World speaks volumes about his abilities both as a storyteller and skilled filmmaker”.

MiceChat had reported in 2014 that Disney was planning to build a Star Wars-themed land in Disneyland. The area will be populated with aliens and droids plucked straight from the “Star Wars” universe. Disney World also hosts Star Wars Weekends, multiweek festivals including parades, shows and Star Wars characters.
