“Star Wars”- Themed Lands Coming to Disney Parks
The ninth instalment will conclude the third trilogy of movies that begins with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is out in cinemas in December. “So we’re going to transport guests to a whole new planet”. The parks’ largest ever theme land will feature a battle experience and the opportunity for visitors to fly the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission.

During a presentation to a packed house of industry insiders and Star Wars fans at the event, Disney president Bob Iger, said: “I can not think of a better way to celebrate the next 60 years of parks and resorts than with Star Wars Land. It is a seat at a campfire, surrounded by an extraordinary group of storytellers, filmmakers, artists and craftspeople”, said Trevorrow.
Rian Johnson has previously been announced to direct Episode VIII, and now Disney has confirmed rumours that Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow will take on Episode IX.
The role is possible if he channels what he learned from George Lucas such as boundless creativity, pure invention and hope.
Disney had recently purchased three parcels of land, totaling 14.7 acres, near Disneyland, sparking speculation that the property would free up land for a future park expansion, The Los Angeles Times had reported last week. They’re certainly investing vast amounts of money to make the most of their investment, and they’re doing so before the first new Star Wars film has even arrived in cinemas.
“We are creating a jaw-dropping new world”, he said.
In other Star Wars news, Disney is opening two 14-acre Star Wars-themed lands – in Disneyland and Disney World, because no one wants an East vs. West coast brawl. Thing is in that photo you can’t see some of the film’s biggest names, so read on. Star Wars has a huge enough following that this is a very logical move in response to rival theme park the Universal Studios (also in Orlando and Los Angeles) announcement that huge The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open up at both locations.

The Star Wars portion of the Expo also featured appearances from director J.J. Abrams and new castmembers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and Lupita Nyong’o.
