‘Star Wars’ trailers vs. what ended up in the film
Disney has an estimated $350 million advertising budget for Star Wars, and Sensor Tower reveals a major increase in advertising from the top three Star Wars apps during the premiere weekend on Facebook. Star Wars: The Force Awakens has broken almost every box office record along the way, earning the highest domestic and global openings of all time.

Why didn’t it make it into the final cut? Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with Rentrak, told Variety on Tuesday that the seventh Star Wars film has the potential to exceed James Cameron’s “Avatar”.
Like many of you, I spent this past weekend attending one the opening night showings of the eagerly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And, it’s not like Abrams is leaving the Star Wars universe altogether, so he can’t be too upset about not being the director. When that shot was included in the April trailer, they were still planning to include the scene. It was the first (and the only time I can remember) that we made a trip outside of our home borough of Queens just to see a movie.
“It’s a fairly common occurrence when you’re working on a movie, and it’s a year or six months out”, Abrams said.
The North American box office, which includes U.S. and Canadian theatres, is forecast to rise 6.3 per cent to $11.01 billion in 2015, Rentrak Corp said Tuesday in an e-mailed statement.
NONETHELESS, I do have some thoughts and observations (lucky you!) about Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Unlike his predecessor, Abrams isn’t interested in rereleases.
“I’m curious to see how this one works”, said Andy Tigre of Rockville Centre, who said he said he was more of a casual fan.
I’m not a psychologist or even a film critic, so I won’t pretend to have strong feelings about what all the nostalgia means or even why we seem to be so much more enamored of it now than generations that came before us.
However, according to The Force Awakens actor Greg Gunberg, Abrams harbors an inkling of regret that he didn’t take on Episode VIII himself. “As soon as Finn sees danger, based on his past, I would expect him to just run in the opposite direction…but he grabs her hand, you know, wants her to be safe”.
