Starbucks employee delivers coffee, food to police officers after New York explosion
In the wake of a tragedy, it’s often the small acts of kindness by regular people that can really make a difference.

A video shot at the scene of the bomb explosion that occurred in Manhattan Sept. 17 shows a Starbucks employee giving police officers free coffee and pastries as a show of appreciation for their work.
In the aftermath, first responders have been stationed across the area, with one former Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent commenting that NY is “at a level of alert that this city has never seen since 9/11”.
On Saturday night, a bomb explosion rang out in Manhattan, New York, leaving dozens injured.
“I just wanted to bring you guys some coffees and pastries”, he says, handing over the coffee as well as two large bags filled with candies.
“Thanks a lot, man”, a man in a fire department shirt replied.
“I wish I could have brought a little more”, Jermaine added.
The popular West Village hotel, the Standard High Line, opened up its rooms to residents living within the attack area. In a Facebook post publicizing the offering, the hotel only asked for proof of address in exchange for the complimentary stay.

Ahmad Khan Rahami is accused in the bombings. Since then, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered 1,000 additional New York State police officers and National Guard personnel to help patrol the city.
