Her Majesty was also honoured by stars of stage and screen, including Kylie Minogue, Dame Helen Mirren and Gary Barlow. The royal highness arrived at the venue in a horse-carriage, before she received a kiss from his son, Prince Charles.
LONDON (AP) Buckingham Palaces has released black-and-white images of Queen Elizabeth II as a young girl amid celebrations marking her 90th birthday.
On her actual birthday, the Queen went around the Windsor Castle to accept the gifts and well wishes of the citizens.
Also in attendance at the event, which featured horses from the Royal Windsor Horse Show, were Prince Harry, Prince Philip, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and more.
Royal family fans might have spotted that the Queen already had her actual 90th birthday on April 21, but as it’s such a big one she’s spreading out the celebrations.
Katherine Jenkins delivered the patriotic I Vow to Thee My Country, and a choir version of the coronation anthem Zadoc the Priest also filled the arena and actor Martin Clunes appeared as president of the British Horse Society.
Elsewhere during the show, unsaddled horses were led in formation by the horse whisperer Jean Francois Pignon, who made a small white pony walk on its two hind legs.
A major part of the Queen’s life has been her role as head of the Commonwealth – the 53-nation organisation know as the family of nations.
Acts from around the world entertained the 6,000 spectators, and the performers all gathered on the showground as a giant model birthday cake was brought out for the ending.

It is expected to close with a show-stopping performance by Dame Shirley Bassey of Diamonds Are Forever followed by a rendition of happy birthday.
