Start Thanksgiving At The Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot

The Two Town Turkey Trot, a new race being held by Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, takes place at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

The Fun Run is $15 with a canned food donation and $20 without and the 5K is $30 with a canned food donation and $35 without. Other race-day activities include food booths, awards and other activities for the entire family. They are planning to wear T-shirts with the foundation’s logo for the 5k race, which starts at Bradley Park at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. “It was a first-year event in 1995 and I’m certain there were lots of kinks that had to be sorted out”.

This year, nursing sophomore Sufny Goytia wants to run the race with her friend who has done it before, she said.

Participants will help raise funds for programs that facilitate career pathways and community employment for people with disabilities. The run starts and finishes at 8280 Longleaf Drive and benefits Courage House.

He especially encourages this among with families who have had many generations participate in the race.

“If people are still wanting to sign up they can sign up on sight at Wrightsville Beach”. Traffic on Gorham Street will flow normally.

Even better, the event offers residents a number of ways in which to participate. “It’s also a fairly fast-paced event, so everyone’s out and done by noon”. Sign-ups are welcome through the day of the event.

“I’m excited about the new courses”, Drybread said. “Turning Point is an affordable housing mission”. There will be fun event for the whole family and a wonderful way to bring the community together.
