Starz Renews ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead’ Before It Even Premieres
(Other than the original Evil Dead and/or Evil Dead remake, but …).

Starz didn’t wait long to scare up a second season of Ash Vs Evil Dead, renewing the horror-themed series before its Halloween premiere. Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 2will premiere in 2016.
It’s been a long journey, but between numerous comic books, a trio of video games and a legion of die hard fans, the “Evil Dead” is ready for its revival. First things first, let’s just be glad Ash vs. Evil Dead is premiering for its first season on October 31 at 9 PM. But he inadvertently read from the fateful book again while stoned and trying to impress a woman.
After catching glimpses of the revived spirits, Ash decides to flee. Two fellow employees join him: Pablo (Ray Santiago), who feels it’s his destiny to battle evil alongside “El Jefe” Ash; and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), who wants payback for what the creatures have done to those close to her.
Evidently, the spirits can take possession of both human and non-human hosts.
“In a lot of ways”, Ash says, “he saved me”. The ten-episode horror-comedy series continues Ash’s journey following the events of “Army of Darkness” – you know, the third “Evil Dead” film that was released in 1992.
When the camera pulls back, we see that Ash is fastening a corset around his middle-aged belly.
The show, created by Sam Raimi and featuring Bruce Campbell reprising his role as the title character, is a continuation of the Evil Dead franchise, a set of four films including 2013’s Evil Dead, the only film in the series Raimi didn’t direct (though he did produce). Of course, because it’s Sam Raimi, the gore will likely be just as amusing and goofy as it is horrifically twisted (or, as Lucy Lawless described it to the LA Times, audiences can expect “buckets of blood and good humor”).
When old friends get back together, it’s not surprising if they dwell on the past.

Every now and then, Hollywood taps into the collective unconscious of nerds everywhere and comes up with something so unbelievably exciting that one can hardly believe it’s real – Ash vs Evil Dead is exactly that.
