State Department Resuming Its Own Probe of Clinton’s E-Mails
The U.S. State Department has made a decision to reopen a probe into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on the grounds that she may have mishandled classified information, it announced Thursday.

State Department spokesperson John Kirby, said the department will aim to be as expeditious as possible.
State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said in April it was “standard practice” for the department to pause on its review during the law enforcement investigation.
Kirby set no deadline for the investigation’s completion.
But Kirby said this week former officials can still face punishment.
Mr Trump has repeatedly accused Mrs Clinton of masking her involvement in illegal activity by deleting more than 30,000 emails she claimed were personal and not related to her job as top United States diplomat. Doing so may result in civil and/or criminal penalties.
“I can not provide specific information about the department’s review”.
Comey was the subject of a lengthy grilling on Capitol Hill on Thursday as he fielded questions from Republicans about the investigation, with House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz saying he would ask the FBI to probe whether Clinton lied to Congress about her email arrangements.
In concluding the FBI’s investigation, Director James Comey said Clinton and her aides were “extremely careless”, but there was no evidence suggesting they acted with criminal intent.
Additionally Thursday, Republican lawmakers said they would now ask the FBI to investigate whether Clinton lied to the committee.
The State Department implements E.O.
The goal is to determine whether Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, and her aides violated State Department email policy by maintaining a series of private email servers containing classified information.

Though news of the State Department’s investigation sends us all backwards into a tailspin, it’s worth pointing out that Obama’s statement at the rally sends a clear message: Regardless of what’s going on, he still believes in Clinton as the best future for our country.
