State Fire Marshal Suggests Testing Smoke Alarm Batteries

The Indiana Fire Marshal is asking Indiana residents to take a moment to practice fire safety and change batteries in their smoke alarms at the same time.
“It’s proven that smoke alarms can save lives in the event of a fire – but only if they are working”, McPeak said.

The Cleveland Division of Fire will sound the emergency alarm signal on Saturday to remind residents to change their smoke alarms when they adjust their clocks for daylight saving time.
