Numerous protesters were angry over Trump’s stance on immigration.

A man wearing a red hat with the Trump campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” was punched in the head from behind. He said his goal in protesting Trump’s appearance was to display his country’s flag “as loud as I can”. “Nothing new about any of that”, she said.

The elected national delegates will be bound to vote for businessman Donald Trump on the first ballot because he beat Ted Cruz and John Kasich in the state’s presidential primary.

Doing that, however, would mean Republicans would be better served picking a candidate from outside the field since it would likely alienate many GOP voters to select a nominee who couldn’t secure majority support from the election cycle.

But Arlett says he’s not concerned delegates might vote for either candidate on later ballots, though he says one may peel off – declining to identify a specific delegate.

“I do think if Trump’s going to pull this off, he’s going to have to study California really hard”, he said.

Missouri Democrats on Thursday selected 47 delegates for the party’s convention in Philadelphia on July 25-28.

Cruz won backing from Indiana’s governor on Friday ahead of the state’s primary, where the Texan is fighting a rearguard battle to damage Trump’s chances of winning the nomination.
