Bahraini Religious leaders, scholars, clerics, MPs, Shura members, tribes, trade unions, sport clubs, youth associations, members of the business community and citizens joined a national outcry against “irresponsible” statements made by Ali Khamenei, the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader, said a report in the Gulf Daily News.
He said Manama is critical of Iran’s support for the oppressed people of Bahrain. The terror attacks resemble strategies employed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Bahraini authorities have said.
The two suspects had admitted receiving the shipment from Iranian handlers outside Bahrain’s territorial waters, it said, adding that one of them had received military training in Iran in 2013.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif received a red-carpet airport greeting from his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah.
Bahrain’s ambassador to Iran, Rashid Al Dosari, has served in Tehran for six years.
Shortly after, parliament’s foreign affairs committee announced the envoy’s recall and demanded an extraordinary Arab summit to discuss “Iranian interference”.
Bahrain summoned Iran’s acting charge d’affaires last Sunday to protest at Ayatollah Khamenei’s remarks.
The Iranian regime, which rules an overwhelmingly Shia country, has for a long time publicly backed the Shiite majority in Bahrain, which is governed by a Sunni monarchy. “The Kingdom is also keen to follow the diplomatic and legal means to defend its interests and enhance the security and safety of its people”.

Iran has voiced support for those demanding change in Bahrain but denies direct interference in the country.
