Burwell met with residents, local officials and Gov. Rick Snyder, who is asking the government to expand Medicaid coverage in Flint to people under 21 and pregnant women. As a result lead, a neurotoxin, and other contaminants seeped into the water through the pipes.

Mary Lawston, a retired widow, said that she still struggles to pay between $172 and $214 a month for water she and her grandchildren can’t use.
The governor says he’s cleaned house at the state Department of Environmental Quality and is ready to do more.
