State’s legal fees in Flint water crisis climb to $1.2 million
“The public health issues the people of Flint and Genesee County are facing warranted an internal review”, Snyder said in a press release.

Every day brings a new bombshell revelation in the scandal around Gov. Rick Snyder’s role in first creating the Flint water crisis and then failing to do anything about it.
It states that Snyder has retained their services for “legal advice and representation related to any criminal investigations and prosecutions and related claims arising from the Flint water supply matter”.
The release of these latest batches of emails is in addition to the release of Snyder’s Flint-related emails on January 20 and the initial release of the Executive Office’s Flint-related emails on February 26.
“The resources were needed to complete the work that has to be done, and needed to be done in a timely manner”, Adler said.
Flint switched its water supply from Detroit to the Flint River in April 2014 in a cost-cutting move when the city was under a state-appointed emergency manager.
Adler said that Larkin dealt with several cities including Flint and is no longer associated with the governor’s office.
Bitely said the attorney general’s investigation is “not connected in any way” to Snyder’s administration and is not “subject to the monitoring of the administration”.
The city switched back to the Detroit water system in October, but the more corrosive water from the river leached lead from city pipes, causing a serious public health threat.
Lawmakers are sending $30 million to Flint to pay for 65 percent of the water portion of bills.
