The Wildcats matched the offensive output of TCU for much of the game, leading 35-17 at halftime behind a dominant running game, but stalled in the second half, getting outscored 35-10.

While TCU has played a few close games lately, the Iowa State Cyclones simply don’t have the horses offensively to be one of those teams.

The junior led a K-State ground attack that was responsible for controlling the clock, dominating the time of possession and essentially keeping the ball out of TCU’s hands.
The teams traded field goals, to maintain the 7-point Poke advantage but on the last series of regulation Skyler Howard scrambled to the right and dove into the end-zone to finish a 68-yard drive and tie it up.
Before the season, TCU coach Gary Patterson pointed out how the Horned Frogs had a challenging road schedule.
