Statistical dead heat emerges in poll of Trump vs. Clinton

An ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Monday showed Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton by two points.

Campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said Monday that Clinton will compete hard in the remaining primary states, particularly California, while also turning her attention to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump. “He could bankrupt America like he has bankrupted his companies”, the former secretary of state said on Sunday in her address to the 2016 International Convention of the Service Employees International Union in Detroit.

Thirty percent of her supporters said they support Clinton based on her experience, a far cry from the 2 percent who said the same of Trump.

Clinton’s campaign and her surrogates have seized on the recording to argue that she would take better care of the United States economy.

Clinton said when he talks about ending birthright citizenship, he is talking about kicking children who are born here out of the only country they know.

Clinton and her top aides are ready to no longer focus on Sanders and have signaled for the weeks that they are turning their focus to Trump whether the Vermont senator is around or not.

He is betting an upset in California would lure away many of Clinton’s superdelegates.

But with the former US secretary of state’s current delegate count all but guaranteeing her the nomination over the senator from Vermont in Philadelphia next month, Clinton has pivoted to the general election and refocused her sights on presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. I mean, you just said he’s a bigot.

“We are going to take on climate change, which Donald Trump says is a hoax, except when it comes to his golf courses”, said Clinton. Given all the anti-Semitism that has enveloped Britain’s Labour Party I shudder to think what the Democratic Party will look like in four years from now thanks to one socialist.

The ABC/WaPo poll, however, did not ask respondents about a hypothetical Sanders vs. Trump race.

Clinton needs to win California for a strong finish heading into her party’s national convention in July and to dispel questions about whether she can unite the party after a drawn-out, increasingly bitter primary race. “But in fact, that’s what conventions are really about – for parties to do the business of the party”.

California voters have until midnight on Monday to register to vote in California’s primary, state elections officials said.

Sanders will be allowed to name five members even if he is not the nominee, a gesture that could ease tensions between Sanders’ camp and party leaders whom Sanders has accused of favouring Clinton. The state’s vote-by-mail contest features ballots that include three other Republicans: Texas Sen.

After nine televised debates and 13 forums, the Clinton campaign has no interest in adding to the list: it formally turned down Fox News’ request yesterday for yet another Democratic debate.
