Statistics reveal importance of ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ to RCRH
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, one of Fort Lauderdale’s busiest streets will be painted pink and renamed Pink Drive.

Figures released by Breast Cancer Care United Kingdom show that 85 per cent of women survive breast cancer for more than five years, and an estimated 78 per cent survive for 10 years or more. The only effective and proven method to detect breast cancer early is an X-ray of the breasts called mammogram.
The original intent of the awareness month for breast cancer, which was raising awareness about mammographic screening – has now been achieved.
“Most cases of breast cancer are found by women noticing unusual changes and visiting their GP, so it’s vital that Scottish women regularly check themselves and take action if they spot anything that is unusual for their body”.
