A band of heavy rain and snow moving towards the region is likely to bring up to 20mm of rainfall, and experts are warning people to “be prepared”.

The yellow weather warning is in place from 4pm today until 8am tomorrow (Thursday).

North Wales is at risk of more flooding over the weekend, the Met Office has warned.

“With most of this falling in around 6 hours there is the likelihood of some surface water flooding, whilst some river flooding is also likely across Cornwall and Devon”.

“We’ve had so much rain over the last few days that the ground is saturated so it’s likely that we’re going to see surface water forming very quickly, with impacts on the transport network”.

“Through the whole period an additional 15-25 mm is expected widely across the area and locally up to 50 mm, mainly over high ground”.

The Environment Agency has also issued a warning of flooding for Yeovil and Sherborne.
