Steaua Bucharest v Manchester City

The England goalkeeper has not played in either of City’s first two competitive games under Guardiola with the former Bayern Munich mentor fielding Willy Caballero instead.

With Joe Hart’s Manchester City future in doubt, we look at the England international’s potential options.

The Toffees did sign a new goalkeeper earlier this summer in Maarten Stekelenburg, but new manager Ronald Koeman may yet fancy bringing in another stopper – and Hart, a two-time Premier League victor at City, is believed to be a loan target.

According to multiple reports in Spain, Manchester City and Barcelona have agreed a transfer deal for goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who will join the Citizens on a four-year contract for a €20 million transfer fee.

Liverpool, Everton and a host of European clubs including Sevilla are all keen on Hart, who is valued in the £25m bracket.

Pep Guardiola is hoping to lead Manchester City on a long run in the “beautiful” Champions League. The club I left and watch now are two totally different organisations.

“I don’t see what he has done wrong to be treated the way that he has”.

“Sometimes it does you good, if you keep winning every week and then you have to learn how to get beaten every week”. At each of his clubs, he has been unafraid to shake up the established order, demonstrating that no single player is bigger than the team. His attitude isn’t awful.

The relationship between Hart and Guardiola is understood to be frosty and the manager is expected to leave out the goalkeeper again for today’s Champions League play-off first leg against Steaua Bucharest in Romania. Why treat him like that?

“I’m not buying into the fact that Joe Hart can not clip a 30-yard or a 40-yard ball”.
