Steelers get 33-20 win over Bengals, who lose QB Dalton

Dalton said he will meet with a hand specialist Monday to determine the extent of the injury, which comes at a bad time for the Bengals, who are on the verge of an AFC North division title and pursuing a bye in the postseason.

But after an X-ray, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback ended up with the hand in a cast and sidelined for the remainder of a 33-20 loss to Pittsburgh.

The extent of the injury – which occurred while making a tackle after an interception – is unclear, but Marvin Lewis said in his post-game press conference the team will move forward with backup AJ McCarron, and Dalton “will be out for a bit”.

Then, the second-year quarterback didn’t help himself with some bad interceptions and overthrows, and the running game was a virtual non-factor as the team played from multiple scores down following the Steelers’ interception return touchdown. Carson Palmer threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals.

Cincinnati (10-2) has already beaten the Steelers this season and can complete a series sweep for the first time since 2009 with a win.

The Steelers may have lost their composure – three personal fouls – but they aren’t losing the game.

Injuries plagued almost all corners of the Bengals’ roster during Saturday’s game: Tyler Eifert was out shortly after Dalton with concussion concerns.

“I hurt my thumb”, Dalton said.

Dalton was having arguably his best season since being drafted by the Bengals in 2011, and had thrown for 3,191 yards with 25 touchdowns to six interceptions.

“I don’t know exactly what happened”, Dalton said. “I take my hat off to the guys and what they were willing to do”.

The Steelers offense is just as hot as the Bengals right now and that could point toward a high scoring game.

The surging Seahawks won their fourth game in a row to improve to 8-5, but will have to find a replacement for Rawls, who entered Sunday leading the league in yards per carry. “We’ll see. I can’t heal bones”. Football’s football, but when you start talking about what you’re going to do to another player off the field and in the streets, that’s Roger Goodell and the NFL’s fault. “I will always love Bill Belichick, that organization, the teammates, the fans”.

Ryan Shazier – Though his stats were only three tackles and four assists, he did a lot of the small things that you look for a middle linebacker.

Also, Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones – who was inactive with a foot injury – sent a profane tweet about Pittsburgh pregame.

In Chicago, Kirk Cousins threw for 300 yards and a touchdown and the Redskins hung on to beat the Bears after Chicago’s Robbie Gould missed yet another late field goal.

-TE Heath Miller, who missed last week’s game against the Colts with a rib injury, returned Sunday and played well with 10 catches for 66 yards.
