Steelers’ line prepping for familiar face in Aaron Donald

After a let-down performance last Sunday against the Washington Redskins, the St. Louis Rams come home to host the Pittsburgh Steelers in an incredibly interesting match-up.

There’s extra demand since he’s from Pittsburgh, went to college at Pitt and still considers himself a Steelers fan – except for this week when Pittsburgh comes to town.

“For a big back, he can bounce out”, Fisher said.

“I’m just an old guy trying to find his way”.

Roethlisberger has been sacked three times and has one interception, the only turnover by the Steelers in the first two games.

“I want to get a sack every week”, Donald said. “If 26 is available, we’re going to use him”.

Roethlisberger had his way against San Francisco mostly because the Niners couldn’t nudge aside an offensive line anchored by backup center Cody Wallace. I think Le’Veon is so unsafe out of the backfield, you know, put them both on the field and use one as a screen, the other as a runner, who knows?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have received some great play from DeAngelo Williams over the first two weeks of the season, but when Le’Veon Bell returns from his suspension in Week 3, he will be the lead back once again.

The Steelers believed Tuitt was a first-round talent who fell to the second round because he had a foot injury that kept him from working out prior to the draft. “I’ll still be caught up on everything so when I get thrown back in there I’m not lost and have to catch up on things”.

“The bow is classy and I like to consider myself a classy guy”, Williams said.

Williams gave the Steelers 204 yards in the ground game as a ten-year veteran, leading the AFC after two games.

Eventually, there will be a game decided by a team’s decision to go for or not go for two.

Steelers inside linebacker Ryan Shazier made things hard for San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick last Sunday. While Tomlin said he’ll continue to go with his gut when opting to go for 2 or kick.

“We feel confident in our ability to win that situation”, Tomlin said on a conference call Wednesday with St. Louis reporters. “We don’t practice it this much to not do it. We do it every single day at the beginning of practice from OTAs to minicamp to training camp”. Shazier appeared to hurt his shoulder on his final play of the Steelers’ 43-18 win over the 49ers. Nick Foles completed 17 of 32 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown. The Rams failed to follow up on an overtime victory over Seattle in their opener, falling behind 17-0 in a 24-10 loss at Washington.

“He’s excited and we’ll just see what happens, ” Fisher said.

Bell admitted that he was not surprised at all by the play of Williams.

In those two games, it could at least be argued that Wilson and Cousins were getting the ball out quickly and throwing numerous short passes, considering the average per completion of 8.3 yards.

The one area that keeps coach Tomlin awake at night, according to his own words, is the Rams defense and Aaron Donald. I think special teams gave us a winning effort, although we didn’t have any really big plays.
