Steelers players allege Vontaze Burfict celebrated Le’Veon Bell’s injury

It was a typical AFC North battle that saw the Bengals defense rise like superheroes.

Ben Roethlisberger was intercepted twice in the fourth quarter as the Cincinnati Bengals rallied for a 16-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Bell’s right knee twisted beneath him as Burfict brought him down, causing a season-ending injury. “You have to have a short memory, good and bad”.

Bengals fans weren’t the only ones exploding with excitement, the Mayor of Cincinnati couldn’t contain his at a fall pumpkin explosion in Eden Park.

“It just (stinks) for him to go down the way he did”.

It’s a potentially, if not likely, devastating blow for the Steelers. Bell is the NFL’s best running back.

The Steelers picked up former Carolina Panthers veteran DeAngelo Williams in the spring. The position still remains Williams’ to lose, but to keep himself at the top he’ll need to show production at or above levels of the preseason and first two games of the regular season.

Williams’ diving sideline interception at the Pittsburgh 45-yard line set up Dalton’s 9-yard touchdown pass to Green, who had 11 catches for 118 yards. James Harrison put forth another solid effort, and Ryan Shazier finished his second game without an injury. He’s not just a teammate. “He did a great job for us over the first couple of weeks of the season when Le’Veon was out, and we’ll get back to him being the featured guy in our backfield and supplementing the other guys around him”.

“Obviously both teams are coming off Sunday games, so there’s no advantage for one side, but I enjoy it”, Hawk said. Big Ben connected on 62 percent of his passes (28-for-45) for 262 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, and was sacked three times to earn a quarterback rating of 57.8.

Even Steelers linebacker Vince Williams publicly threatened to assault Burfict, which was captured by the internet before being deleted. But Williams is no Bell. It’s reasonable to think the Steelers might have won Sunday with Bell.

-COACHING: C-minus. Head coach Mike Tomlin was taken to task for his clock management late in the game when he allowed 38 seconds to run off before the two-minute warning when his team trailed by three points. The injury was originally reported by Steelers Depot’s Alex Kozora and confirmed by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. He is without a doubt the most important piece to the offense.

“Dropped one when I thought about my dog going down today”. That’s 40 percent of their offensive line. Zach Mettenberger threw for 171 yards with an interception in his second consecutive start in place of rookie Marcus Mariota, who is out with a knee injury.

The Bengals also had two fourth-quarter interceptions of Roethlisberger, who was in his first game back after missing four games with a sprained knee.

Defensively, there are quite a few players Derek Carr and the Oakland offense will have to gameplan for. The 4-4 record seems about right.

It’s unfortunate because the Steelers started the season with expectations of their offense scoring 30 points a game.

-SPECIAL TEAMS: C-minus. The Steelers got next to nothing from their return game and received inconsistent efforts from punter Jordan Berry. Without Bell Sunday for nearly three quarters, it was 10.
