Steelers playoff scenarios: How Pittsburgh can clinch today
The Chiefs need to win one more game than the Broncos in the final two weeks. They can finish as the #1 seed if the Panthers lose both of their remaining games, while they finish 14-2 as well. The Green Bay Packers (at Arizona) need not only to win but have the Minnesota Vikings lose. And it’s still not going to be enough: They need help from the Bucs against the Bears and the 49ers against the Lions. If the Bengals beat the Denver Broncos on Sunday they’ll clinch the division, but they play on the road and the Broncos aren’t an easy win. It also clinched the AFC North division title for the Cincinnati Bengals, who could secure a bye with a win at the Denver Broncos Monday night. It’s a battle of backup quarterbacks, but we think the Broncos defense will give Denver the edge. The Jets easily have the tallest task of the three, and already lost to the Patriots 30-23 in Week 7, although that was at Gillette Stadium. But the Broncos can still miss the playoffs entirely. The Ravens could help knock the Steelers out of the playoffs, or at the very least keep them from repeating as AFC North champions with a win on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers: The Packers are in the playoffs, but what’s the seeding?
With a Chiefs win and a Steelers loss, the Chiefs can clinch a playoff spot. Not to mention the fact that the Ravens are picking third in the draft and a win would give the Ravens a lower pick. Houston Texans (8-7, 6-5, vs. JAC) 5. Win out? It’s theirs. They control their own destiny so a win and they’re in.
One of those spots was already claimed in Week 16 on Saturday, when Washington won the NFC East by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.
As you can see, we have the Broncos knocking off the Bengals and vaulting to the second seed in the AFC. The Chiefs more realistically can win the division by winning one more game than the Broncos over the next two games.
Minnesota Vikings: It’s going to be hard for the 9-5 Vikings not to make the playoffs. New England Patriots (12-3, 9-2, at MIA) 2. The Eagles and New York Giants were already eliminated in the NFC Wild Card race, but still had postseason hopes alive, thanks to the lackluster records in the NFC East. If the Chiefs and Broncos end up tied, the Chiefs likely win the tiebreaker based on division record.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Only losing out while the Jets win one of their games put the Steelers out of the picture. The Washington Redskins are in the playoffs, but only as a #4 seed division victor.
