Steelers RB Bell has suspension reduced to 2 games

I think it would be foolish to expect that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell will have his three game suspension wiped out entirely.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell’s suspension has been reduced from three games to two as a result of a settlement between the NFL and NFL Players Association, sources told ESPN’s Jarrett Bell. Bell was facing at least a two-game suspension for his DUI, and he faced up to a four-game ban for his arrest of possessing marijuana. The original suspension was three games, but the NFL and NFLPA negotiated an agreement to reduce his suspension to just two games. The league suspended Blount, now a running back for the Patriots, for the 2015 opener when New England hosts Pittsburgh.

The Steelers then host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, followed by a trip to St. Louis in Week 3. Bell was second in yards from scrimmage and caught 82 passes. The Patriots went on to beat Seattle in the Super Bowl, and Mr. Brady was the MVP. That means Bell will still miss the season opening game in New England, so Pats fans can’t feel cheated about that. That money puts him outside the top-10 among wide receivers in annual payout, fueling offseason speculation that he wanted to leverage a new deal after a league-high 3,197 yards the last two years.

There’s simply no doubting that the team missed him during their playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens this postseason, so seeing him return quicker than expected will be a major boost to a Steelers squad looking to improve on last season. Though the Bills medical staff was monitoring his progress, Williams did not report to the team’s facility until the start of a mandatory minicamp last month.

“I want to [play against him]”, right tackle Marcus Gilbert said.

Mr. Brady, who turns 38 on Monday, took almost every snap last season, meaning Mr. Garoppolo, a second-round pick in 2014, has had very little playing time.

Luckily for the offense, Roethlisberger believes he has the best supporting cast of his 12-year career.
