That devastating Game 2 result on MNF came after the Pittsburgh Steelers eviscerated the Washington Redskins 38-16 in the night’s Game 1.

Ben Roethlisberger knew the retired Heath Miller, suspended teammates Le’Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant and the injured Markus Wheaton weren’t walking through that door.
Jenkins spent the past three seasons with the G-Men, registering nine of his 47.5 career sacks as a member of Big Blue. The defensive line’s ineffectiveness allowed Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger too much time to find Antonio Brown.
Carlos Hyde scored two touchdowns as part of his 88 yards on 23 carries for the 49ers.
On defense, rookie S/CB Sean Davis played significant snaps as the nickel/slot cornerback in five-defensive backs packages, rookie Javon Hargrave worked in the base defense at nose tackle and LB L.J.
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a ritual every day during training camp. The only time DeAngelo Williams, who rushed for 143 yards, didn’t get to the second level was when he got to the third. Still, no matter what, it was the Williams show.
Antonio Brown hauls in his second touchdown of the evening on the Skins secondary. Rogers certainly made a name for himself against Washington, catching six passes for 89 yards. My first game felt good.
He threw two touchdowns to Brown and another to Rogers.
If last night is any indiciation, Washington won’t be seeing that glory again any time soon. He doesn’t block like Heath Miller did, but he’s still learning. That pushed the Steelers’ lead to 24-6. The team had some good moments, and they will probably improve as the season goes along.
“The offensive line does a great job of opening holes”, Williams said. That’s a plus. Grade: A+.
Pittsburgh’s passing attack got clicking, but Kirk Cousins and the Redskins couldn’t keep up.
But Pittsburgh played to its formula defensively, and it worked: Give Washington the short stuff, shade on tight end Jordan Reed and tighten up once close to the red zone. (Still, Thompson did record Washington’s only touchdown of the night.) Grade: B+.
For the Steelers, this game was absolutely huge.
“It’s always pretty good to dial his number”, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said of Brown. Also recording an interception was linebacker James Harrison.
Against the Steelers, the Redskins managed only 55 yards rushing.
They took their stand one step further and held the giant American flag alongside members of the United States military during the singing of the National Anthem at FedEx field.
Roethlisberger finished 27 of 37 for 300 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Former Gators running back Matt Jones was grounded and Cousins, though he threw for 329 yards, was intercepted twice.
Washington couldn’t get out of its own way tonight, and the Steelers capitalized on that, locking up the win.

Things were what they were on special teams. That is unless he wants to see another monster game from an opposing wideout.
