The Pittsburgh Steelers have locked up their All-Pro guard before Week 1.

The six-year contract will keep DeCastro with the Steelers through the 2021 season.
UPDATE: Reports are stating DeCastro’s contract is worth $58 million dollars, and a $16 million dollar signing bonus. The 26-year-old DeCastro was entering the final year of the rookie deal he signed after the Steelers took him with the 24th overall pick in the 2012 draft following an All-American career at Stanford.
During his first four years in the NFL, DeCastro has started 50 games at right guard for the Steelers. Since then, DeCastro hasn’t missed a regular-season game.
The Steelers have made a commitment to protecting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with $134 million now invested in their starting offensive linemen.

The Steelers starting guard is coming off arguably the best season of his National Football League career, as he not only made it to his first Pro Bowl but was also named as a first-team All-Pro as well. “His ability to operate at the second level is rare for a man his size”.

And considering center Maurkice Pouncey is also under contract through 2019, the Steelers should continue to handle opponents at the line of scrimmage as they seek to evolve into a full-fledged Super Bowl contender.
