The Pittsburgh Steelers rewarded their hard work with new contracts.
Pittsburgh Steelers backup wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey re-signed with the team on a three-year deal, according to reports.
Golden set career highs in tackles (36) and passes defended (four) while adding his first National Football League interception in 2015. Golden first signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent from the University of Arizona in 2012. The vast majority of that output came last season, when he was also a regular special teams player.
Golden would have become a free agent later this week.
Heyward-Bey has struggled to produce in the NFL since being drafted with the No. 7 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, averaging 26.2 yards in 104 career games. But he was reliable for Pittsburgh last season with 21 catches for 314 yards in spot duty.
