Steelers trade future 5th rounder for former Bulldogs Cornerback

In a text to CSN Philadelphia reporter Derrick Gunn, Boykin, who is African-American, said Kelly was “uncomfortable around grown men of our culture”.

Boykin’s comments on the heels of LeSean McCoy claiming that Kelly “got rid of all the good black players” and former assistant coach Tra Thomas claiming players picked up “a hint of racism” from the head coach, lead ESPN’s Herm Edwards to believe that Kelly might have a crisis brewing in the locker room.

Drafted in the sixth round last May by Philadelphia, Shepherd consistently has impressed the Eagles coaches throughout the spring and summer and appears to be in line to get the first crack at the team’s starting nickel back position heading into the 2015 season. He didn’t say anything to me.

Boykin played majority of his time with the Eagles as a slot cornerback and is one of the best in the NFL.

“Of course, when you’re in the organization, you’re not going to voice your opinion, but I’ve always been a guy of honesty. I felt like that honesty wasn’t there all the time”.

Kelly said Boykin was traded because he liked the team’s depth at the position and the Steelers actively pursued Boykin. “However I’ve got to do it, at the end of the day, regardless of what happens, I just want to be able to say I did my best, I gave my all”.

Former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin is looking forward to a fresh start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It becomes a fourth-round choice if Boykin, who thinks he’s a starter, plays 60 percent of the Steelers defensive snaps.

Kendricks said Kelly told him that personally.

Unfortunately for the team, Boykin’s comments overshadowed a first day that was supposed to be free of drama.

Boykin has recorded 120 tackles, one sack and seven interceptions in his three years in the NFL.

While the Golson news is certainly bad for the Steelers, they did get some good news on Monday when All-Pro center Maurkice Pouncey was activated off the PUP list.

Boykin later denied that he was making racial accusations against Kelly, saying instead that Kelly was merely distant and unrelateable. For the postseason, Brandon began in his just playoff appearance.

To watch Bradford, who moved seamlessly, lined the offense up correctly and made all the throws and then some, was to wonder if the guy really did shred his left ACL twice in less than two years.

Despite Kelly assuring everyone before practice that all 89 players in camp were totally unrestricted by injury, running back DeMarco Murray was held out of 7-on-7s and team scrimmages.

“The relationship was never really great”, McCoy said.

If anything, Kelly has trouble relating to people, in general – or more accurately, they have trouble relating to him.
