Steelers vow no revenge against ‘second-biggest’ division rival Bengals

Bad blood will continue to flow in one of the nastiest rivalries in the National Football League, which reached a low point in the AFC wild-card game last season when Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict knocked Steelers WR Antonio Brown from the game with a hit to his head that also prevented him from playing in the divisional round playoff game in Denver the next week. Well, three if you throw out two games against the hapless Browns. It was Burfict who ended Le’Veon Bell’s season with a hard tackle from behind and it was Burfict who was fined for an egregious late and low hit on Roethlisberger in the regular-season game in Cincinnati. Weapons aside, Roethlisberger and Dalton are capable of some serious damage when it comes to the passing game.

Burfict led the way with questionable hits and fines, but he wasn’t alone.

Antonio Brown showed why he is widely considered to be the NFL’s best wide receiver, catching eight passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

If you are interested in a more long-term wager, the Steelers can be backed for a seventh Super Bowl title at a range of prices from 13/2 up to 12/1 depending on where you look. At the end of the day, that’s all we’re trying to do. “We can care less about it if you want to talk about it”.

If further along in his recovery, Eifert said he would play against the Steelers without hesitation of re-injury, despite the history of injuries in the rivalry matchup.

“Big Ben, he likes to extend plays”, Peko said.

With that said, Roethlisberger has some serious weapons on his side, and the same thing can be said about Dalton. It’s a hard-hitting physical rivalry, one you have to respect. “I don’t know how we’re going to respond because the game hasn’t happened yet, but we’ve prepared to respond in the most professional way as possible”.

The Bengals have a huge rematch with the Steelers! “If there is a history between two teams, or players, that could lead to issues like we had previous year then we include it in the report”, Blandino told ESPN in an email.

Nonetheless, both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals enter this contest with 1-0 records.

The Bengals’ secondary was good against a tough Jets’ offense in week 1, but that Jets’ offense doesn’t come close to the damage that can be done by a Brown and Roethlisberger connection.

“It’s still going to be a hard-fought game, but we just have to stay away from all the extra things that were going on previous year”, Kirkpatrick said. The Bengals, meanwhile, gave up 152 yards (5.1 per carry) in their win against the New York Jets. He’s beaten the Steelers three times since 2012, including twice at Heinz Field. I can’t hurt my ankle just from running right now. “I’m never going to question the guys we’ve got”.

The Bengals D’ is tougher up front than last season’s NFC East champs.

It seems that even some of the Bengals themselves were surprised by what they saw from their own team in hindsight. “That’s key and we just have to keep it moving forward”.

Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams was named AFC Offensive Player of the week for his efforts against the Redskins. Ladarius Green, who was signed in March to be the starting tight end, won’t be eligible to return from the PUP list until after Week 6 and there is no indication he’ll be able to play at that point. Linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee), fullback Roosevelt Nix (back), corner Senquez Golson (foot) and Williams (coach’s decision) did not practice. That was in 2008, when Heyward was still playing at Ohio State.

“Sure, I did (feel badly)”, Tomlin said.
