Stella McCartney honours mum with post-mastectomy bra

“We wanted to bring something feminine and handsome into a bra that is taboo”. “We were so thrilled when Cara said yes to this project because she represents a generation of young women that we are really trying to reach and catch the attention of”, McCartney noted.

Linda McCartney, Stella’s mother and the wife of former Beatle Paul, died of breast cancer in 1998.

The “Louise Listening Bra” is titled after Stella’s mother Linda McCartney’s middle name.

She also explained that the bra is designed for women who go through a major physical trauma while battling breast cancer and that it is her attempt to make them feel handsome again.

While handsome in design, the bra also provides the same functionality and comfort that mastectomy surgery requires like compression, deep sides, a wide underband and a zipper front to help with accessibility. The new line is designed specifically for women who have undergone mastectomies.

The designer has a new range of pretty pink lingerie for breast cancer survivors and supporters. The first, the Alina Playing set up, is naturally a warm rare, ultra-feminine silhouette bra and bikini-style thong create, based by stick insect Cara Delevingne inside of the crusade commercial.

We’ve long known that it doesn’t matter what size cup you are, your girls deserve to be supported by a lovely bra.

The bra can be preordered at www.stellamccartney.com, where it’ll be exclusively available from October 1.

This bra will named after Stella’s mom, which passed away in 1998 from breast cancer.

McCartney is using the launch of Listening Louise to raise funds and awareness for the Hello attractive Foundation, an organization that hopes to build a center in London for breast cancer patients and their families.

‘There are so many different emotions attached to the tragic realities of having had a double mastectomy, many cultures are unaccepting and awful things happen to women both physically and emotionally. A percentage of the proceeds derived from the Listening Louise bra and the Alina Playing bra and panty set will be donated to the Linda McCartney Centre in England, the National Breast Cancer Foundation in the United States and Australia’s National Breast Cancer Foundation.
