Stephanie Meadow challenge falls away in Canadian Pacific Women’s Open
Although she took a bogey at the par-4 16th hole, she ended the day with consecutive birdies at the 17th and 18th holes to finish the round 7-under 65 and the tournament 15-under 269. The only thing is I really want to be happy on the course. “It didn’t feel like anything changed”. Jutanugarn claimed the title, while Kim and Chun settled for second and third place. Meadow said. “I definitely saved myself on the back nine with my short game. It wasn’t pretty, but I got it done, and that’s what golf’s about”.

Ko is 10 under tied with five others. “The score didn’t really show and putts started to drop this week, and I hope it can continue this weekend”. “There’s still a lot of golf to be played”.
Jutanugarn won the Women’s British Open before the Olympics to tie with Ko for the LPGA Tour victory lead. “I work with like Vision 54, so they helped me a lot”, Jutanugarn told reporters after her win Sunday. “I was not hitting it well the first nine holes, but I hung in there”. Her putt for par at the 14th hole in round two was listed as one of the highlights of the entire tournament.
“But I feel like I’m OK”, Jutanugarn said. “That’s the only key I want to be”.
“Today was a really good test because I came out and wasn’t as nervous as yesterday”, Sharp continued.
Ko shot a 69, making four straight birdies in the middle of the round.
Ko came into the event after claiming silver last week at the Rio Olympics and, with victor Inbee Park bypassing the event, has a golden chance of going one better.
Meanwhile fellow New Zealand golfer Michael Hendry has finished second at the latest Japan Tour event.
Jutanugarn matched the tournament record for relation of 23 under set by So Yeon Ryu two years ago at London Hunt in Ontario and the mark for strokes of 265 set by Ryu and also accomplished by Ko in 2013 at par-70 Royal Mayfair in Edmonton. After a string of six missed cuts and withdrawals early in the year, the Sherbrooke, Que., native has cashed a cheque in each of her last eight starts.
I could see the putting lines very well, said Chun, the 2015 U.S. Womens Open champion.
“I feel like I’m going to withdraw this week because my knee hurt so bad last week”, Jutanugarn said. “Unfortunately, I had a couple of mistakes coming in”.
“Sometimes I feel more confident with my irons, so I feel like this one I’ve got to make sure it’s in the fairway, so it’s good enough”, said Jutanugarn, who is now No. 2 in the Rolex women’s world golf rankings behind New Zealand’s Lydia Ko and just ahead of Brooke Henderson from Smiths Falls, Ont.

“I feel like I was a little slow today, made some good birdies and then made a big number”, said Lee, who’s playing in her first LPGA event as an amateur. Meadow had a 69. The Calgary player is a sophomore at Ohio State. “Just a great experience”.
