Stephanie Meadow remains in contention in Canadian Pacific

She didn’t even bother bagging a driver this week.

Ariya, who won her first major four weeks ago at the British Open, was leading the Olympic tournament after the first round in Rio before pulling out during the third with a knee injury. She was second behind Suzann Pettersen at the course in 2009.

Next best were South Koreans Kim Sei-Young at 18 under par and Chun In-Gee at 17-under. I just really want to be happy on the course. “But right now, I feel more confident because I can hit my irons in the fairway and my three-wood in the fairway. But this week, I don’t need that”.

Gene Sauers, the second-round leader and U.S. Senior Open victor two weeks ago, shot a 72 to finish a shot out of the playoff. “That’s really helped me the last two days”.

“I feel like I was a little slow today, made some good birdies and then made a big number”, said Lee, who’s playing in her first LPGA event as an amateur. “I feel like I’m going to withdraw this week because my knee hurt so bad last week”, Jutanugarn told The Associated Press.

Sure, easy for the leader to say.

Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn replaces her ball on the ninth green during second round action at the LPGA Canadian Open tournament in Priddis, Alta., Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.

Ariya’s triumph was her fifth in four months after the Thai fired a final round 66 to double her overnight two-stroke advantage and ease to victory at the Priddis Greens course in Calgary. “I think she is inspiring for the new generation”, Moriya said.

“I feel like I’m okay”.

“You know, I think rather than me wanting to win it again, I think there is a bit more added pressure because you are the defending champion”, said Ko. “Ariya and I have such different games”.

Ko appeared to be building a head of steam with four birdies in a row between the ninth and 12th holes to move to nine under. “And honestly, I’ve said it so many times, but the fans are seriously fantastic”.

Also blossoming this season has been Maude-Aimee Leblanc, who ended the week tied for 14th.

Henderson, 18, walked off smiling after a birdie putt on No. 18. Both of them are really good friends to our family. I played well last week. “The score didn’t really show and putts started to drop this week, and I hope it can continue this weekend”.

Bundled up in a winter jacket between shots on an overcast afternoon, the second-ranked Jutanugarn broke a tie with top-ranked Lydia Ko for the LPGA Tour victory lead. Canadian star Brooke Henderson was nine back at 8 under.

Quebec City’s Anne-Catherine Tanguay shot 74 and is 1 over for the tournament heading into Sunday’s final round. That was her only blemish on a scorecard that included six birdies.

She considered skipping the tournament to get another week off.

“So I know when I get really excited, what I have to do”. “I mean, we have a lot of supporters this week, so it’s nice to see everybody come out and support us”.
