Colbert noted that may also have been the theme behind the former best-selling self-help book, “The Secret”.

The former talk-show queen came on “The Late Show” Thursday night to promote her new miniseries, “Belief”, which explores the origins of different faiths and religions. Oprah disclosed that “Belief” aims to open up the various worlds religions and faiths across the globe. “Yeah, there is”, confirmed Oprah in the interview.

Beth Foster, co-director of Mercy Junction Peace and Justice Center, said, “Hosting a discussion and viewing as part of the BELIEF series is a great opportunity for Mercy Junction to continue and expand our ongoing conversations at the Justice and Peace Center, where we seek to express our own faith and understand the faith of others through action toward social change”.

Oprah was in disbelief when approached by TMZ and told about the rapper’s comments, saying “I don’t buy it, you know it’s not true”. That makes it hard to include the mainstream Christian denominations when the people are living “regular lives” of weekday work, family attention, and Sunday services. Meanwhile, Oprah believes that faith is a completely different aspect altogether.

Winfrey and Colbert then went on to talk about their favorite passages from The Bible. Because anybody that’s watched her over the years knows that this content is nearest and dearest to her heart, and telling stories is a passion that just ran through every show that she did on the Oprah show and everything else shes done. “Mine’s from Matthew”, responded Colbert, referring to his favorite Bible verse.

The recital was followed by thunderous applause, after which Colbert asked Oprah to reveal her favorite verse, to which she said, “Mine is Psalms 37:4”.

She said that for her, the verse means focusing on virtues such as kindness and love to find happiness.
