Stephen Colbert gives ‘Melania Trump’ a chance to address plagiarism accusations

Mrs. Trump’s words were criticized for similarities to a speech given by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2008.

But Colbert – who will be giving a day to day breakdown of the GOP convention – backed Mrs. Trump, to some degree, on this one. “If only there wee someone in the Trump campaign who enjoyed firing people”, he mulled. The Broadway star even added in a few lines from the Kit Kat jingle “Gimme a Break”.

You’ve seen all types of Donald Trump impressions: Good ones, bad ones, Jimmy Fallon’s.

According to the latest polls, presidential candidate Donald Trump has 0% support from black voters in OH, so during last night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert found the best guy to interview: black Ohioan RNC attendee Frank Walters (Keegan-Michael Key), who is very, very excited to be there.

Colbert admitted that he had a personal friendship with the Trumps, despite his previous commentary, and that he wanted to give Melania Trump an opportunity to set the record straight on national television with a statement of her own. “I would not, could not with a goat”.

In the skit, Laura referenced famous quotes from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, Green Eggs & Ham, the McDonalds theme song and SO much more.

“In writing her attractive speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. I am mad as hell and I am not going take it anymore”, she continued. “Ms. Trump fired off random lines from the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)”, The Lion King, McDonald’s ads, the viral video “Boom Goes the Dynamite” and lastly, Saturday Night Live.

“My fellow Americans”, she said before turning several directions as if she was doing a photoshoot. “Hakuna matata. Ba-da-da-da-da I am loving it”.
