Stephen Colbert, ‘identical twin cousin’ balk at lawyers’ demand
Left with no choice, he announced that the character Stephen Colbert, host of “The Colbert Report”, would never be seen again.

Stephen Colbert is no longer allowed to use the faux conservative character he played for nine years on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report on his new show, CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the late-night host explained in a segment on the program Wednesday night. Viacom’s lawyers got in touch with CBS’s lawyers to express their disapproval, so on Wednesday night, Stephen finally retired “Stephen Colbert”. “Which is surprising”, he noted, “because I never considered that guy much of an intellectual”.
“I feel the same way, but what can I do?”
No we’re not talking about the man Stephen Colbert, wearer of black-framed glasses and host of CBS’s The Late Show. Colbert said. “The lawyers have spoken. I can not reasonably argue I own my face or name”. “And as much as I’d like to have that guy on again, I can’t”. But Colbert quickly soothed audience boos by introducing the identical twin cousin of “Stephen Colbert”, “Stephen Colbert”.
Despite the loss, the new “Stephen Colbert” proved just as patriotic as his twin cousin (a odd biological phenomenon he explained in succinct detail). Confused? We bet you are.
Stephen Colbert has been in full stride during both political conventions this month, bringing back the political satire he was known for during his time on The Colbert Report.
“The Werd” segment was identical to what he used to do, except for the “e” in the name.

For instance, Colbert said that during the coming campaign, Hillary Clinton will say things that will make Donald Trump appear to be a racist.
