Stephen Colbert steals stage at RNC, mocks Donald Trump
Last night as part of his Republican National Convention coverage, Stephen Colbert needed to make sense of the current Presidential election, so he traveled through forage and forest to find the secluded rugged cabin home of an old friend, to get help.

As he slams the gavel to begin his so-called RNC Hunger Games, a phony Secret Service agent races on stage to shut down Colbert’s antics. A few spit takes later Stewart and Colbert are trading back and forth a few “that Donald Trump!?”s and it feels like old times”. After explaining to him that Trump was the Republican candidate, since Jon claimed he doesn’t follow politics any more, The Colbert Report host jumped out of the cabin and made his way to The Late Show desk.
Both Stewart and the Colbert character seemed content in their retirement, resigned to the fact that Jeb Bush would be the Republican nominee.
Later in the show, Colbert reprised his Colbert Report character to comment on the convention.
The popular satirical persona has been deeply missed from our screens, especially while watching the rise of Donald Trump, a political character that is a flawless candidate for mockery by the over-the-top personality of The Colbert Report host.
He said: “People who don’t support Trump feel like the world has gone insane”. Stewart will also be making more appearances.
In full Caesar Flickerman regalia, Colbert swanned around Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena (“named for a moneylender so you know it’s ruthless”) as preparations were underway for the convention.
