Sports analysts and basketball pundits have been saying that the Golden State Warriors and Curry’s 2014-2015 NBA championship was just luck, but as reported by Sports Illustrated, they are dead wrong.

Curry outscored the New Orleans Pelicans 28-26 in the third quarter alone during a 134-120 road win on Saturday, and the reigning MVP is motivated by negative comments from around the league.

Stephen Curry is off to a monster start for the Golden State Warriors, averaging 39.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game, while making acrobatic shots nearly at will. The 50-point loss of the Grizzlies was their worst loss in franchise history. So after his incredible 2014-15 season, it may have been natural to assume that this was as good as Curry could get.

The Clippers have their own mojo working, securing their fourth 4-0 start and first since winning the first five games of the 1985-86 season with a 102-96 victory over Phoenix on Monday.

There were 17 lead changes between the two undefeated rivals in Wednesday’s game, with the Warriors leading by as much as 17 points in the second quarter, the Clippers leading by as much as 10 points in the fourth. Curry then hit back-to-back 3-pointers and after being fouled beyond the arc hit three more free throws to push the lead to 84-42. Through four games, the Warriors have quickly put those doubts to rest.

Kawhi Leonard led San Antonio with 23 points and Tony Parker scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.

Curry’s most fun play of the night? Klay Thompson added 14 points and Draymond Green and Festus Ezeli each scored 11. The Warriors also outrebounded Memphis 65-44 and blocked 13 shots.

The Warriors have now defeated Clippers in 18 of the last 20 regular-season home games vs Doc Rivers’ team. Powered by a string of late-game magic, the Golden State Warriors managed to get back into the game with their pump-action offense and tight defense. In total, he made 12-22 shots for 34 points, and added 10 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 block, and 3 steals to his stat sheet.

It’s important for Luke Walton and the Warriors to take advantage of the “nailbiter experience” when they can, as we can assume it won’t happen too often. The New Orleans Pelicans (twice), Houston Rockets and now the Grizzlies have suffered double-digit losses to the Warriors after entering the season as Western Conference contenders.
